Sulphuric Acid Dosing Tank

Aquatic Mechanics have optimised a design for the safe manual handling of sodium bisulphate to make sulphuric acid solution for the pH correction of swimming pool water.

With the increasing popularity of sodium bisulphate as a pH correction agent for swimming pool water, Aquatic Mechanics have led the way by developing this innovative solution for safe materials handling of dry acid in aquatic plant rooms.

Sodium bisulphate is batched into an ergonomically designed hopper, the system then automatically tops up with water and initiates a mechanical stirrer. This creates sulphuric acid aqueous solution at <25% concentration.

The system is complete with chemical dosing pumps - hard plumbed in Industrial Schedule 80 piping (externally sleeved).

  • Locally manufactured HDPE custom fabricated tank and bund, built to German DVS Engineering Standard for Plastics.

  • Ergonomically designed filling chute for 25kg chemical bags.

  • Our complete installation meets and exceeds the Dangerous Goods (Storage and Handling) Regulations 2012.

  • Sulphuric acid dosing has the added benefit of lowering total alkalinity. When coupled with CO₂ dosing, a balance can be struck whereby total alkalinity levels are kept stable with minimal manual intervention.
